EMUL-ST10-Seehau
Seehau for the EMUL-ST10-PC has been in beta test since the end of September
1998. Seehau is the only software currently available to the EMUL-ST10-PC.
This software is currently in Released Status.
Known issues:
New Feature:
- Source single stepping improved for speed of operation. Include two
different modes of operation.
- New "Ebi" button runs External Bus Information macro. This
reports information about the external bus in easy-to-understand format.
- Help is revised and improved. New links allow to get context-sensitive
help for menu items, windows and dialog boxes. For more information
select "How Do I?" and then "Use Help" in the on-line
Help contents.
- Newly redesigned inspect window that incorporates may new features.
- USB support for the Super10-OCELite Debugger is added. Support includes
all of Seehau's normal features, ie. Macros, memory access in source,
data, register and inspect windows, normal SW and HW breakpoints and
the new "complex breakpoints" implemented in the core. Trace
is not available.
- Support for USB emulator connection has been optimized for speed,
reliability, and ease of troubleshooting.
- A new feature called "Support over IP" is added. It allows
remote monitoring and control of emulator hardware. The feature allows
a customer's experts to support other users of Seehau and improves customer
support by allowing support engineers to see Seehau's behavior on the
end user's site and demonstrate features of Seehau during a "live"
Internet connection to the end user's hardware. For more information
see online Seehau Help.
Recent Fixes:
- Fixed to invalid warning at the end of loading a file into the emulator.
- Assembler source-level view.
- Stepping fixes & trace configuration dialog box fix.
- Filtering on a range of opcodes now captures the entire range
- Fixes to Symbol table handler
- In Trace Setup tab (ST10) the Active Levels only reflect addresses,
not check boxes. If the user has deleted the addresses and inadvertently
forgets to delete the check box...it is still in effect even though
the Active Levels dot is red.Switching from Standard to Advanced Trace
Config clears checked boxes in levels 1-6.
- If using the Repeat Counter Advanced Trace, make sure "Repeat
Counter decrements on event ELSE cycle" box is checked Level7Flt.
Default now is that this item is checked.
Newly Implemented:
- Support for the ST Super10
- New settings for Graph or Gauge were added to DisplayAs d-box for
Data Window. Also, now Graph display can be used with data in unsigned
format.
- The Debug/Info/Error Dialog box now has a new "Details" button that
scrolls the message contents down to the details section when it is
pushed and then changes to "Message" so that the next time it is pushed
it will scroll back to the top where the message is.
- C++ support improved..
- Expression evaluation engine is greatly improved. It is very stable
and allows evaluation of almost all C/C++ expressions. Seehau behavior
is slightly affected by the change in areas that allow expressions (like
Data and Trace Windows and more). For example, expression "show+7"
in most emulator families used to mean "&show + 0x7".
Now it means "&show + 0x7*sizeof(show)" which follows
C/C++
Not Implemented:
- Code Coverage on the ST10-FA emulator set.
- Due to a bondout bug, Write Protect does not work on the ST10-FA
Known Bugs: Other information in Bugslist.doc
- View_Evaluate fails to evaluate "&(XXX->yyy)" where
XXX is a pointer to a structure containing yyy. Error is returned. Switching
from Standard to Advanced Trace Config clears checked boxes in levels.
- Extend recording doesn't record any extra frames.
